Let's get started

We are going to ask a couple of questions to gather valuable information needed to register your business and open a Nedbank business current account. Please note that some of the information will be shared with CIPC in order to complete your company registration.

The following should be taken into account before registering your business online.

Already registered?

Have you already performed a business registration and current account application? Do you need to submit new names to your existing application?

How much will it cost?

To process your initial company registration, a fee of R125,00 is payable. Should you choose to reserve your company name, an additional R50,00 fee will be payable.

The total fee for company registration and name reservation is R175,00.

Name my company

You have two options when registering your company:

  • You can reserve a name for your company when you register.
  • You can register without reserving a company name.

Documents

The following supporting documents are required for the online application:

  • A clear, scanned copy of your identification document.
  • Your proof of address.

Max three directors
You can register up to three directors. Should you wish to register a company with more directors, you can register at a Nedbank branch, through our partner, SwiftReg. Alternatively, you can register directly with CIPC.
Company type
Only PTY (Ltd) (Private Companies) can be registered. Trust’s, Non-profit Companies etc, are excluded from this simple online process and will need to be registered directly with CIPC.

Qualifying people
This capability is available to directors who are citizens or permanent residents in the Republic of South Africa, and where all shareholders are natural persons. Foreign nationals need to register directly with CIPC.
B-BBEE
As a new business you also qualify for a B-BBEE exemption certificate, as an exempted micro-enterprise. The Nedbank registration process gives you the option of applying for this certificate. It is important to note that: B-BBEE certificates are generated by CIPC with the company registration certificates.

Please ensure you have the following documents ready before you start:

  • A clear, scanned copy of your identification documentation.
  • Your proof of address.

When receiving notification that your online company registration application has been temporarily approved, all the directors will have to visit a local Nedbank branch.

The following documents in respect of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), 38 of 2001, are required for all directors and authorised signatories of the company when visiting the Nedbank branch:

  • Your green barcoded South African identity documents or new smart identity cards; and
  • A utility bill (such as water or electricity accounts) that show the stand/erf number of their properties and full names and addresses.

Note: We will not be able to complete your company registration until we receive the documents in hard copy format.

I acknowledge and understand the above requirements
